Tiger? No, no, Tiger Williams is not coming out of retirement. Tiger Woods is offically win-less in 2010. He pulled the trigger on a Sunday collapse (instead of a Saturday night dust-up at "Wood" manor), letting a 4 stroke lead slip away, and allowing Graeme McDowell to take the lead for good. It's safe to say that the Tiger is caged, and it is also safe for the other golfers to do what they kind of get paid to do; Golf. Sure, they did that before, but seeing Tiger in the tee-box in 2008 was like the mob coming after you, it never worked out for you. Tiger v.2010 meowed like an abandoned kitten on the side of the road. The rest of the field just aren't scared, that's all there is to it.
TSN is reporting that Alex Anthopolous has/is about to pull said trigger on a Shawn Marcum deal to the Brew Crew of Milwaukee. In return, T.O would be getting the Brewers 2008 1st rounder, Brett Lawrie, plus (according to Drunk Jays Fans) Nick Bucci (maybe) and other unnamed pitching prospects.UPDATE: rumbling of it being straight up Lawrie for Marcum. AA isn't thinking straight is he doesn't get pitching in return for pitching. Marcum is a legit pitcher in this league, and being a part of that young and loose Jays staff only helped. Having said that, this may/may not kill a Kansas City/Greinke deal. Again, Greinke is a lights out pitcher, but he is unproven with massive crowds. AA may take that chance, because I certainly would. There's a hole in that there rotation, and its slowing beginning to have his name on it. As a side, Hoffpauir as the Jays starting 3B next year? They haven't set their sights on anyone that I know of, so the future may be now.
The Winnipeg Jets.... er... I mean, the Pheonix Coyotes are slowing making me a believer. They ( I meann, Bryzgalov) shut out the Ducks of Anaheim tonight. The whole crew was clicking, although a few questionable penalties called on the Ducks certainly helped the cause. There's breaking news! The Ottawa Senators can, indeed, score goals. Chris Kelly was a one man show, scoring the hatty in a 3-1 triumph over the NY Rangers. Don't bust out the shnops yet, the long journey to having legit scoring has just begun. One more thing, the Islanders stink, enough said.
The train wreck commonly known as the 2010 Indy Colts blew up once again, as they lost in O.T to the 'Boys of Dallas. Why has happened to Peyton Manning? Lack of support on his O-Line? No running game? Me thinks its a virus known simply as getting old. It happens to all of us, even Peyton. So, get better bud, we're rootin' for you. Speaking of old age, Drew Brees isn't showing any, as they pulled out the 4 point win over Cincinnati (another cat that has lost his bite). The T.Ocho show has officially gotten old for me. Go play, catch some balls, win some games for your QB and team, then you can do the show. Need a example? Watch the game film from todays game and watch Drew. I can't skip the Giants, as they blew out the Redskins 31-7. Eli did not impress whatsoever, but his running back did. Mr. Brandon Jacobs blew the doors off with 103 rushing yards and 2 TD's. Let's hope Eli doesn't catch the same virus brother Peyton has. Otherwise, the Giants are going the same way as the Colts.
Heading home on the final note, The Battlefords North Stars finished up the SJHL Showcase in Weyburn with a 1-1 record. They pulled together and gutted out a 5-2 win over the Kindersley Klippers on Friday. However, Saturday was a different story, as they fell 5-4 to the Ice Wolves of La Ronge. The game was the definition of an awesome and intense game, full of crooked numbers, LA's crooked number, though, has one more hook to it. The Stars now get a well derserved break, waiting until this Friday for the Notre Dame Hounds to roll into the Civic Centre. Check out Dan O'Connors Stars blog @http://thevoicedo.blogspot.com/ for more insight and personal reflections.
Thanks all I have for now. Time for me to hit the ol' dusty trail.
