• Aurora defeated Orangeville 4-3 in double-overtime of game #3 and Burlington defeated Milton 4-3 in game #2 for the only two OT games in the preliminary round
• Toronto Jr. Canadiens and North York Rangers combine for 36 goals in their four game preliminary round match-up
• Wellington Dukes and Kingston Voyageurs the only series to go full five games in preliminary round with Kingston pulling off the biggest upset of round one
• OJHL will have a new champion as the Wellington Dukes fall to Kingston – Dukes earliest exit from playoffs in more than a decade
• Buffalo Jr. Sabres win their first playoff appearance since 2009 with a three game sweep of Hamilton

Big thanks to Rich Seaward, Head coach of the Dundurn Wheat Kings, for the following couple of points.

-members of WHL [Wheatland SR Hockey League] for over 25 yrs ago, one of the original members of WHL which was formed in mid 80's (not sure the exact date)

Provincials!

Yeeees! That time of year again.

Saskatchewan Hockey has released the Provincial Draws, and both Wilkie teams are in.

Wilkie Sr Outlaws


They draw into Senior B against the Dundurn Wheat Kings.

Dundurn resides in the 13 team Wheatland Sr Hockey League. They sit 1st in the league with a 13-3-1 record, good for 27pts. They have 4 players in the top 10 league scoring, however, they don't have amazing goaltending (5th in Goals Against), but they do score a pile of goals (93, 2nd in GF), and are 2nd in team PIM.

Wilkie Midgets


In the 1st round, they draw Meadow Lake in Midget B action. This will be tough to judge, because Meadow Lake has two separate teams in the STEP league. The Colts sit second in the 10 team league with a 8-1-1 record for 17 pts. The Storm are third with a 6-3-3 record for 15 pts. I assume they will assemble one team out of these to play Wilkie.
